Due to society “writing me off” as a midlife woman, I really struggled to adjust to ageing when I was in my 40s, I dyed my hair brown and fought to hide my glistening silvers, and I avoided conversations about age at work. Society had told me all my life that I was only relevant if I was young, and that is where the fear of being labelled old was rooted.
