I came into Youth Leadership Oklahoma thinking it was just going to be about leadership — I’d meet some new people, do a bunch of activities, and leave with a few more Instagram followers. But this week turned out to be so much more than that. I learned that Oklahoma has the potential to be a true powerhouse, filled with journalists, justices, chairmen and women, doctors, healthcare professionals, educators, public officials, CEOs, and everyday citizens working to move our state forward. I gained a deeper understanding of what leadership really means — not just speaking up, but listening, learning, and recognizing the leaders around me. Along the way, I made friendships I never expected and had conversations about faith that opened my eyes to the greatness of Christ. I met 49 of Oklahoma’s brightest students, and I’m proud to say I helped complete the 50. This experience didn’t just teach me about leadership — it helped me discover the leader I already am. So thank you @youthleadershipoklahoma for helping me be the best version of me!
