V cool learning about the Laureato watch at their manufacture in Switzerland (yes I’m still here lol). The Laureato is a quartz watch, but very legit... Girard-Perregeaux made the first industrialized Swiss quartz watch in the early ‘70s, which is still the standard by which all high end quartz watches are measured. And if you’re reading this unsure of what a quartz watch is — it’s a watch run on a battery powered movement vs a mechanical movement (and a lot of the hardcore watch heads will turn their nose up at quartz). But it’s very practical and allows more flexibility in design and oftentimes makes watches more affordable... we saw a lot of mechanical GP watches too, but it’s exciting to see haute horlogerie applied to a quartz watch like this one here.
