❤️‍🔥Today we are featuring one of several 3D sound sculptures by @elanamamma which are featured in our current virtual exhibition UNPROTECTED - an urgent and powerful exhibition as protest. Elana’s work and perspective has been integral to the development of this show. The hole in the palm of the hand connects through the interior chamber in the arm to the bell of a trumpet. The piece is a symbol of emergence: although a speaker's mouth is covered when they use it, their voice is still heard. The audio is composed by Sharon Choi Kim and performed by Mikaela Elson, Sara Sinclair Gomez, Sharon Choi Kim and Kathryn Shuman. Through the sculpture, voices are muted and amplified as ther wail and whisper. They are intensified, and they are silenced. They ask. "Can you hear me?* ❤️‍🔥On August 13th, the entirety of the UNPROTECTED exhibition will be released as a singular NFT containing a compilation of artworks by participating artists.
