If you drink pasteurized milk, if you appreciate the freshness of sourdough bread, if your pet gets a rabies shot — you have Louis Pasteur to thank.
Swipe to see photos of “Pasteur at 200”, an exhibition on view at Yale's Harvey Cushing/John Hay Whitney Medical Library through January 2023. The display commemorates the work and legacy of the renowned French chemist, who was born December 27, 1822.
Located in the library's rotunda, the exhibition is open to the public by appointment as well as to the Yale community on weekdays between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. The display highlights how Pasteur remains in the public eye centuries after his death, and how his accomplishments continue to resonate in our everyday lives.
Visit calendar.yale.edu and search "Pasteur" for exhibition details.
