GOD DID! When I got the call my daughter had Cancer I went numb. I was in 🇳🇬 working and I said “Do you want me to come home now?!?” My daughter said “No. I will wait until you get home.” If you scroll back to December I fulfilled EVERY speaking engagement in Nigeria knowing I was returning home to a daughter with Cancer. On March 15 with close family and friends I SHAVED my hair to stand in unity with her. To some it’s just HAIR! You know @indiaarie song i am not my hair? I quickly realized I was my hair and fought inner insecurities everyday! Literally. Some may say it was petty but my daughter loved me though my truth of saying it’s hard to be a public speaker with no hair🥹 We agreed I would wear a wig whenever I had speaking engagements or meetings. Fast Forward I never missed Chemo! And every trip (she was doing treatment in AZ) I would land and get a clean shave! Every time! It wasn’t a option and it became our routine before 6/7 hour Chemo treatments together. Close friends know and now I get to tell you..... AMBER RUNG THE BELL!!!!!!!!! We are done with Chemo! We still have a journey but no chemo for now and this is a gift from GOD! Thank you to everyone who supported Chemo Days especially @delta who always got me there on time, @officialamandadavis for all the FOOD (it was a lot of food🫣) and everyone that purchased a Amber Fight Club Shirt! (Side bar if you didn’t get a shirt blame Jordan aka the shipping department because we didn’t make a website and it was a lot to keep up with during Chemo.
