‘Life Lessons from Hip-Hop’ is out in a week! The journey towards this book began on the day this photograph was taken, after a conversation that truly altered my perspective on life. J. Cole helped me to question my definition of success and consider my purpose - which, as a proponent of hustle culture and toxic productivity at the time, I previously never had. I’m forever grateful to Cole for that. Through ‘Life Lessons from Hip-Hop’ I want to share my reflections and experiences of interviewing my favourite artists: to identify teachable moments, encourage others to live more fulfilling lives, and to hopefully communicate some of the transformative effect that the wisdom of my interviewees has had on my own life.
