Weather-proof. : able to withstand exposure to weather without damage or loss of function Repairing leaks, adding insulation, re-enforcing windows, preparing a place ready to withstand the storm. Just one of the many ways I approach and decide what I teach my children. Because they are smart, strong, brave, and capable, but the world can be far more harsh than they’re ready for. Some say the best way to teach them to weather the storm is to throw them out in it. Not me. I want to reinforce the structure before the storm comes. Proactive vs reactive. Reinforce, vs repair. Here’s how you handle this situation when it comes up vs, this happened, let’s figure out how to deal with it. Obviously all parents are capable of this (and hopefully already doing it) no matter where their child attends school, the difference is time. Homeschool gives the gift of time you cannot get any other way. Homeschool gives the gift of full-time sanctuary, guidance, and protection by the ones who love them most. A study in 2018 showed that public school families spend an average of just 37 minutes of quality time together each day. Call me crazy, but that will never be enough for me. I want more time. I cherish these years with my babies under my roof. Many of you shared the reasons you homeschool in the question box I put up today. I’d love if you’d also share in the comments to help encourage others. We all need the reminders some times 🤍 #erinshomeschooltalks
