This pic sums up my 2022 - kids constantly pulling me along. They get me up out of bed (mainly because they want breakfast) keep me on my toes, pull me out of my griefy days (because let’s be honest, mum mode is ALWAYS on) my umpires whistle is constantly being blown, they have been my strength but I have also had my fair share of hard days. Some one after the other, some just minutes or hours. Having to do this whole parenting gig solo is so fucking hard at times, especially when all I want is a break, or do something other adults do, like go out for dinner, go out for drinks, go away for the weekend and not have to be home in the early morning - but now I say no because I guess I have more of a responsibility now and I also have that shitty ‘mum guilt’ that someone else has to have my kids. These two are my world and if you have kids you will know how hard parenting can be.
