@sylvia_fowles, We have grown up together as pros. You were the second client I signed out of college and as you step away from playing, its a reminder of how far we have all come. We’ve been around the world together - China, Turkey, multiple Olympics and Worlds. You taught me how to make spaghetti meat sauce in your apartment in Moscow and since I got that first Syl Hug in 2008, just about every time I have asked you how we could help you, your answer was about us helping others. We forced you to attend your own farewell tea party at All-Star this year and as I toasted you then, I’ll say it again here - you are an icon for your accomplishments, but also for a legacy of good. You have treated people well and your body of work, loyalty, selflessness and consistency have set a standard that people have begun to appreciate in a way that is as deep and lasting as it is late in coming. Many will cite you as their inspiration and I am so very proud to know you. Thank you for letting us celebrate you this season. We love you, we honor you and we will miss you on the court - but not in life, because in that, you’re only just getting started. 🫖
