my birthday/@soundandfuryfest weekend couldn’t have been any better. all of my friends and favorite bands who also happen to be my friends bands in the same place at the same time. it would be easy to take HC for granted when you’ve been going to shows for 20+ years, but personally i always aspire to never get cynical or become the proverbial dreaded and dusty oldhead. this weekend was proof that you’re only as old as you feel. HC is a youth movement and it always will be. i’m glad to be a part of it. HC lives. big shoutout to the fellas and @brittydrake for letting me share the spotlight with you during your sets. special shoutout to the love of my life, @creature2creature for making my birthday extra special by making my favorite breakfast and dessert, and going the extra mile to make me feel special on a day i usually find myself lamenting the passing of time. not to mention all my friends who also went out of their way to wish me a happy birthday (and all the random people who did the same all day on sunday). if any of this sounds self serving it’s because it is, i’m a leo. get over it.
