Let’s chat about reframing our body image for a min 💬 I’ve had several convos with clients this week about their relationships with their bodies.. the foods they eat, their workouts, or feeling behind in their progress. I think the one thing that I stated that was consistent across the board was, “Your body is yours and yours alone. And even more so, your fitness journey is yours and yours alone. Honor them both.” The moment we start to compare, restrict, or punish our body for all that it’s not, is when we lose our love and connection to the current body we have. I am not without these feelings myself- we ALL have insecurities. But what if instead we started praising our body for the things it does for us. Respecting your health journey regardless of meeting a certain “time frame” we set for ourselves. Focusing on working out and eating nutritiously as a form of self love and self respect. The number on the scale is honestly the least important thing about your journey with your body. What’s important is how you choose to love it, show up for it, and move it. If you’ve been feeling stuck in this state, I encourage you to show up differently and change your mindset around your WHY. My why has changed drastically over the years, from wanting to be as skinny as possible in the beginning, to now- wanting to feel strong, confident and able to do anything I want. I promise you’ll start feeling differently when you make the steps to change your mindset. Because this body is the only one we get.
