Last week, the Taliban issued a ban preventing women from working for NGOs in Afghanistan. The impact? We are not able to deliver to those MOST in need—women and girls. Just a week after they were barred from universities, women are bearing the brunt of the latest edict. The IRC has worked in Afghanistan through three decades of crisis. At a time when over 97% of the population is at risk of poverty, we urge the authorities to reverse this ban so that we can serve the Afghan people.
