One of my favorite aspects of backpacking is finding new places unexpectedly. Unlike the friendly little roadside views that have every angle documented for you to see, backpacking almost always has the chance to yield something new and unique. When hiking up on this solo adventure in the North Cascades, I had only a vague idea of what it would be like vs. what I actually photographed. At the very end of the trail, not far from where I pitched my tent, I just happened to find this scene.
