Another mini interview! ✨
I hope you enjoy the conversation with @kenyaosuna 😇
Hello! Please give us a little introduction about yourself.
Kenya: My name is Kenya I'm a curator and collector of all things that catch my eye. The old, the new and every subculture in between. I'm from Phoenix Arizona.
The first time, I’ve stumbled across your account was almost one year ago. The pictures of your apartment made me realize that you have a general interested in aesthetics and design. Since when exactly are you into interior design?
Kenya: I've been very fortunate to have super unique influences as a child. I really had the coolest siblings that exposed me to so much music, art, architecture, photography etc. I'm the baby in my family, my older siblings and I have huge age gaps. I'm a mashup of everything they were individually into in their respective phases. In addition to that I've always had a special interest in books as a child I loved literature. Naturally that let led me into cinematography, more literature, art, architecture and fashion. These interest followed me growing up and as an adult.
There is a lot of cool stuff to explore in your apartment. The Undercover lamp and the Murakami pillows are just a few eye-catchers. What are your all-time favorite pieces?
Kenya: My personal favorite is the Dom perignon x Marc Newson champagne cooler. It's both a sculptural object and a completely functional object for the home. I first saw it in Kanye's very first LA home been manifesting ever since. And now it's mine. My next favorite is my bar cart which I got for $20 I built it myself and it's truly the perfect size and nothing feels more rewarding than finding cool things in the trenches. Another favorite is my Jesus Malverde bust, it was brought to me directly from the shrine in Culiacan, Sinaloa. Makes for a great conversation piece and serves as a unique way to bring a part of my culture into my home. I like to challenge myself when it comes to interiors, playing around with pieces that would never fit together and make them look aesthetically pleasing and harmonize with each other.
