Protest held today over the killing of 22yr old Mahsa (Jina/Zhina) Amini after getting taken in by Iran’s morality police over improper headscarf. This protest hit different because Iran and the 43yr oppressive religious extremist regime is tied to my family’s cultural history. I was there for Mahsa, for my family, country, and all women worldwide who have lost agency over their own bodies. Speakers/singers today included Nazinin Boniadi, Shohreh Solati, Sattar, & Morteza.
