“Take pride in knowing that your struggle will play the biggest role in your purpose.” As athletes, we are programmed to be ruthlessly competitive. It’s all we know. Winning is what we dream about, what we strive for and what we sacrifice for. It has taken me 10 years to understand that winning isn’t always about results. It’s about facing adversity head on. Hitting rock bottom, and clawing your way back out. Questioning everything you know, just when you think you have it all figured out. Pushing your body and mind to limits you didn’t even know you were capable of. Coming out the other end, looking back and asking “how the hell did I do that?” That’s winning. I’m proud of this group and I think this was a significant growth year for a lot of us - rookies, vets, and everyone in between. Thank you to our staff, fans & to the @blackswansdc .
