from something we filmed last year when I was in a lot of pain - hurting for my broken inner child, and hurting so deeply for my Asian sisters and elders we have lost. my heart still breaks, but I have begun to stitch long lost pieces back together. so while I still carry my pain, and feel like I always will, I don’t feel like I’m bleeding out anymore. and that’s when I realized I’m healing. because I can carry my pain without hurting, and tend to my wounds before they bleed me dry. because it is in my pain, in allowing myself to crumble in feeling all of it, that I have alchemized and found my resilience. “Exploring the Resilience of Asian Americans” for @papermagazine ❤️
