Back in 2020 when the fires of that fall were making for tough times in the vineyards and then the cellar, we had the good fortune to start working with Sav Blanc. It's aromatic lift went a long way in helping the blends of a very challenging vintage. What was going to be St. Reginald Parish ‘Disco Nap’, which is usually Chardonnay and Pinot Gris, got a hefty dose of Sav Blanc added to it. In the end, this little experiment turned out to be utterly delicious and compelling, with tropical fruits and firm, but pleasing tannins. In fact, it was so good that we made it again in 2021, with a near perfect vintage on our side. So here's to unexpected surprises, having gold dust at your feet, and always living on the Sunny Side of the Street.
