This Friday, August 19th, is #NationalPotatoDay, and we plan to celebrate all week long with our community. First, let's get started with the basics when it comes to potatoes and vodka.⁠ ⁠ When people think of vodka, many assume that all vodka is made from potatoes. But in reality, less than five percent of vodkas are distilled from potatoes. Creating a potato-based spirit can be quite expensive due to the fact that it potatoes are lower in starch than grains, we use 7lbs of potatoes to produce one bottle of vodka. Also, while grain can be stored for years in the right conditions, potatoes remain fresh for only a few weeks, which is why we seasonally distill our potato vodka between the months of September to December.
