When I think about my mom I think about sunshine. I think about waking up in the morning and hearing music playing from the speaker in the kitchen and her singing and dancing along with freshly made coffee. I think about funny animal videos she would have loved to see (or would probably have tagged me in on Facebook). I think about her garden and flowers in front of our house. I think about horror movies she would want to watch together. Phone calls from her telling me to come visit and have a sleepover. Her reminding me to wear sunscreen and put lotion on my neck so I don't get wrinkles. Her taking care of me when I was sick and upset no matter how old I was. She was empathetic, hilarious, intuitive, sensitive, strong, and beautiful. It really really sucks that the rest of the world won't be able to see it. She was one in a million. I wouldn't be half the person I am if it wasn't for her and I miss her every single day. Happy Mother's Day mom.
