VIDEO: Want to see a robotic turtle in action? Researchers at Yale have created this Amphibious Robotic Turtle — aka ART — which has morphing limbs that can adapt shape, stiffness, and behavior when transitioning between land and water. The project, led by Yale mechanical engineer Rebecca Kramer-Bottiglio, is described in the Oct. 12 edition of Nature and is featured on the magazine’s cover. The robot could be used for monitoring ecosystems along shorelines, diver support, and ocean farming, as well as for studying the physics of locomotion in the surf zone and other environmental transition zones. Get to know ART and see the full video about Kramer-Bottiglio's research by searching "robotic turtle" at news.yale.edu. @yaleengineering #Yale
