I had a plan. I had a menu. I even had a cocktail.
Then I saw the news.
15 dead and 40 more in the hospital. All because they wanted to celebrate #Hanukkah on the beach with friends and family.
I was in shock and so upset. I still am. Why does this keep happening?
At first I didn't even want to turn on the oven. But why should the monsters win? I don't want to hide in the vast darkness, especially on a night that should be so full of light.
So, I made dinner. I lit the candles and I celebrated the first night of Hanukkah with my family. Because I refuse to let the monsters win. I refuse to let the darkness over take me. I will stand strong. I will be the light because, while it may take time, eventually the light will win. It always does.
So, tonight light those candles and celebrate. Celebrate for the next 7 nights. Hug your loved ones tight, and shine bright.
