I get a lot of questions about Gretsch guitars and why I love them. This is the greatest sounding vintage Gretsch I’ve owned. It’s a 1958 6121. This is the first year for the filterTron pickups. If you’ll notice, there is nothing on the covers. No “patent applied for”. These are the most sought after Filtertrons. Not sure if there is anything different about them, but I do know that this guitar is the best sounding one to my ears. I’ve owned 4 Gretsch’s from the Chet series from 1958. A 6119, 6120, this one and a 6122. Of course, this isn’t quite the rock n roll animal that my signature Gretsch Falcons are, but for classic Gretsch, this is my go-to @officialgretsch (I bought this from my good friends @killervintageguitars )
