It’s dinner time! For the manta rays to eat their plankton, that is. These creatures are gentle and nice and won’t cause any harm to you. SO, go snorkel with the manta rays— at night— when they come out to eat plankton. @hawaiiexperiences Big Island, Hawaii Tour companies will boat you out to a spot where the mantas are hanging out. They set up flotations at the surface of the water that you hold onto, with your snorkel gear. They shine some lights into the water, which attract the plankton, and thus the mantas. Sometimes you will see one swim by, or maybe 6 swim by. Or sometimes they get very close to you and will do barrel rolls like this right underneath you. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 We have done this excursion multiple times on the Big Island, and love it every time.
