Silky, savory, structured and satisfying, this is one Zinfandel you’ve got to put on your list especially today!🍷Happy Zinfandel Day! More history on @turleywine ⬇️ Founded in Napa Valley by former emergency room physician Larry Turley in 1993, Turley makes over 50 wines with focus on Zinfandel and Petite Syrah. For nearly three decades, Turley has been a benchmark producer of Old Vine Zinfandel. In fact, their first vintage in 1993 ranked #11 on the Wine Spectator Top 100 list.👏 If you’re a fan of Frog’s Leap Winery, the wine was initially made at what is now the Turley Cellars production winery just north of St. Helena. Turley was the co-founder of Frog’s Leap Winery and when he sold his interest in 1993, he kept the winery and property. That same year, Larry founded Turley Cellars and produced his first vintage. 🍇 Their wines are produced from 50+ vineyards across Napa, Sonoma, Mendocino, Lodi, Contra Costa, Amador and Paso Robles. If you’re looking to visit Turley, there’s two tasting rooms in Amador and Paso Robles counties. Now let’s talk about this 2020 Zinfandel! 🍒🍓 Rich, jammy and intense with bold fruity flavors of berries, the more I swished the glass, spicy pepper notes come bursting out!👃 NOTE: Zinfandels produced from grapes grown on old vines up 50-130 years, result in intense, concentrated flavor profile. On the palate, this wine shows a certain plushness with a long silky finish.👅 You can find Zinfandel from Italy, Croatia, Australia and South Africa, but this grape is predominately grown in California; particularly the San Joaquin Valley.🍇 How to tell the difference among the Zinfandels from California? Look for ⬇️ 1️⃣ Lodi: red fruit and smoky notes 2️⃣ Paso Robles: red berry and floral notes 3️⃣ Napa: dark berries and high acid 4️⃣ Sonoma: bold with spicy notes If you love smoked foods, Zinfandel pairs great with BBQ chicken!🍗 #nationalzinfandelday
