On Tuesday Nov 1st, we re-opened the doors of La Casa Dragones @casadragones in San Miguel de Allende after a one year renovation project. Mishele @mishelewells and I have dedicated ourselves to restore the house in partnership with Will Meyer @meyerdavis , Marco Valle @marcomvalle , Ana Elena Mallet @madamemallet and Raul Cabra @rcabraoax Having the opportunity to work with this talented group is a real privilege that has inspired us tremendously and we are so grateful for their dedication and the love that each of them has poured into La Casa Dragones. The restoration project is focused on making a homage to Mexican craftsmanship inspired by mid century Bajío and modern Mexico including work our beloved Hector Esrawe @hesrawe , Gloria Cortina @gloria.Cortana, Fernado Laposse @fernandolaposse , Caralarga, Fabián Campello, Trine Ellisgard @tellitsgaard, Antonio y Bertha Cornelio, Bernardo Martínez amongst others who where there in person to commemorate this special moment. To inaugurate our home, our kitchen and our bar we had the privilege of having 2 adored friends whose talent made this night one of the most special dinners we have ever had: Chef Daniela Soto Innes @danielasotoinnes , youngest person to ever win James Beard Award ‘Rising Chef’, first & only Mexican, and youngest chef, to receive 50 Best ‘Best Female Chef in the world, and multiple award winner of best chef in NYC. We were honored to receive her and her amazing team who are about to open their own restaurant in Riviera Nayarit called Rubra @rubra.mx . Take a peak at the beautiful plant based menu!! And to inaugurate our new Obsidian Bar is super creative Fabiola Padilla @fabspadilla from @bekeb_sma San Miguel - one of the top mixology bars in our gorgeous town!
