A French boutique hotelier is making a high-profile return to South Beach with a $44 million hotel acquisition.
Philippe Le Guennec has purchased the @anglershotel for $43.5 million, according to property records, marking his latest move in Miami Beach’s competitive hospitality market.
The six-story, 132-room property at 660 Washington Avenue sits just two blocks from the shoreline and features two pools and three food-and-beverage venues. The deal, which works out to roughly $330,000 per room, includes furniture and equipment, with Interaudi Bank providing a $23.5 million acquisition loan.
Le Guennec plans to manage and renovate the 101,741-square-foot hotel, which last traded in 2018 following a nearly 70,000-square-foot expansion of the original 1923 structure. The seller, San Francisco–based KHP Capital Partners, was represented by Hodges Ward Elliott, while One Sotheby’s International Realty handled the buyer side.
The purchase also signals a return to Miami Beach for Le Guennec, who sold the St. Augustine Hotel in 2017 and currently owns 10 boutique hotels in Paris under the Hotel Saint-Louis brand.
