2 Years of craziness! The struggles of the pandemic were very real! The greatest impacts I felt were trying to juggle childcare while continuing to lead. The daycare had 2 week closures almost every month. It became incredibly challenging leading my team, managing a global business while also holding my title as a kick ass Mamma and being there for my kids. Does mom guilt ever go away? It’s been anything but easy to get to where we are at today. Think one bedroom apartment, ramen noodles for what seemed like a lifetime, a lot of loneliness, depression, breastfeeding at my desk, changing diapers in the middle of meetings, and completely ignoring all my accomplishments along the way. We’ve made a lot of sacrifices, taken a lot of hits and personally as an Indo Fijian Canadian Muslim Woman of Color I have faced adversity from the moment I came out of my mothers womb. So what’s the take away? We are all just human and our journey in life comes in waves where we’re riding high or just trying to scrape by. But for some reason we only emphasize the losses. I want to take this opportunity to appreciate everything we have built here. I’m grateful for all of you @suvabeauty fans, our incredibly talented and committed team (can’t stress this enough! Our team is amazing!), and just in awe of this global community we’ve built - for the weirdos, creatives and people who just want to make art.
