Legitimately trying to understand how some members of the Supreme Court sleep at night. How are they justifying this past week’s decisions? I feel disoriented. Like the wind was knocked out me. I haven’t spoken much yet because I’m processing emotions. The ones that feel like grief, the swells that feel like rage, and all the rest that are roiling, pushing me towards action. To my feet (and fists.) After re-reading our constitution I can say again, unequivocally, that 6 out of 9 justices of the Supreme Court have damaged minds and hearts. There are several violations of the constitution in their rulings. Not that I needed to defer to a bill of rights in order to know that, but the past 3 rulings are unconscionable to me and I’m trying to understand. Another take-away from reading this again, is that the social and political division in this nation that has come into focus over the past 5 years, is the same thing it’s always been. Likely it was tempered by the coma of consumerism and the carelessness that accompanies capitalistic values and so we forgot. -continued in comments 👇🏽
