Meet Hugo. Hugo was born with exomphalos - a condition which caused his liver and bowels to grow outside of his body. He underwent various surgeries at GOSH which ultimately saved his life. Now approaching his 12th birthday, Hugo's mum, Nicola, says he is a "happy and healthy boy who's just started secondary school." During his time at GOSH, Hugo and his family developed a particularly close relationship with his nurse, Heather. Pictured at the hospital with Hugo, Heather was part of the team who took care of him from day one. “We know that without the treatment and care Hugo had at GOSH he wouldn’t be here today," says Nicola, "We’re so grateful to Heather and all the doctors and nurses - as well as the charitable donations that help the hospital support other children and families."
