Frida Kahlo returns to Paris with the exhibition FRIDA KAHLO AU-DELA DES APPARENCES FRIDA KAHLO BEYOND APPEARANCES. After her first solo exhibition at the Julien Levy Gallery in New York in 1938, Kahlo was invited by André Breton to show her work for the first time in Paris in 1939. The exhibition presents photographs, drawings, medical corsets, accessories, and Kahlo’s vibrant wardrobe alongside her paintings and objects from her time in Paris. The exhibition reveals her private world and the way in which experiences of ethnicity, gender, and disability shaped Kahlo’s life, style, and art.
