Just returned from a few days away. I’ve never quite meant the word “away” as I do now. A group of 8 accepted the call from my brother Jason to join him on a Sacred Hunting trip. I am sure that phrase conjures images, however, it would be hard to describe with any justice the profound inner expansiveness I, and the others, experienced, and witnessed, as a collective this past weekend.
It is with excitement that I share this video made by Chase, one of the 8 who are affectionately known as the Thundercaterpillar Gang.
It is arguably too personal to share, and at times felt too sacred to film. Having watched it, however, I think it is too valuable not to offer in the chance it might spark thoughts of reverence.
After three days of praying in ceremony, emotional tending with heartfelt men, including my dear brother, communing with the divine Nature of Texas, being molded by the sacred landscape, battle-ready plants, lucid rivers, stones as wise as time, the breezes that sculpted it, lying underneath the sun-dampened leaves of a grandmother Pecan tree, with soil on my lips, weeping for the great Comanche Nation, the eternal stewards of this land, I can say with a deep knowing beyond thinking mind that I have been touched. Touched by what I will call a new sense of reverence for the sacred unity of life. I welcome it unfolding within me like a flower.
Some specific gratitudes in the comments below, but unending gratitude to my brother Jason for hosting it.
