Throwback Thursday: "Marilyn and I" It's been 12 years now since I was invited to participate in a first-ever of its kind project: A book about one of Marilyn's personal dresses, her fans around the world, and their connection to her. Authored by French photographer @yury.li.toroptsov the book shows photos of fans from all walks of life together with the dress ( including Marilyn Monroe photographer @douglasskirkland ) in various settings. For my photo, I was with other items from Marilyn's wardrobe that are part of my collection. The Marilyn Monroe dress that was a focus for the book project originally sold at @juliens_auctions in 2005. It's owned by @jacques.leroux.paris . And...incredibly... a few years ago a never-before-seen photo of Marilyn was discovered...wearing the dress. Previously it was believed the dress was un-pictured. It was an exciting discovery, and one that likely tripled the value of the dress. 😱 #marilynmonroe
