👋 hi folks new and old! here i am drowning in books because that is my favorite place to be ❤️ i’ve been gravitating towards instagram more and more recently and with everything going on elsewhere, i think this is where i’ll stay. so here’s a little introduction post about what i do, and what i do here... i write a lot. i read a LOT. i love to talk about writing, and what i’m writing, and what i’m reading. and i like that Instagram lets me share snippets of what i’m working on, what i’m devouring at the moment, and what passages and authors have me starstruck and pondering. i have truly zero talent for arrangement and graphics the way some of you lovely bookstagrammers do, but i really enjoy sharing recommendations, receiving recommendations, and struggling through difficult texts here with a community. i post a lot more to stories than i do to regular posts or reels - what are reels exactly? but if you enjoy peeking into someone else’s thoughts while reading then you might enjoy following along as i tackle books i think are cool. as a consequence of my writing career i often get the chance to travel, and i love more than anything sharing my discoveries (even if that is just the interior of an airport bookstore in Ottawa...) and hearing you all yell at me that the poutine i tried is not REAL poutine 😉 i also like that this platform lets me be ridiculous! if you’re new to my instagram you’ll find my stories are some combination of rock climbing, cooking disasters, and pretty libraries when i’m not sharing pages and pages of whatever book i’m excited about. thank you for letting me be alternatively silly and comfortable and professional. i like this place and i think it’ll be home for the current while... also i want to hear from you! what do you enjoy from author posts? writing advice? behind the scenes?
