Way back then, I'm just a facial wash-moisturizer - kind of gal. Heck, I'm not even consistent with my sunscreen then, yikes! Then serum caught my attention & have never looked back! I can't be without them! What is a skincare serum anyway? I'm sure we all know it but for the sake of reminding everyone & those who are starting their skincare journey. Google defines it as ' a concentrated liquid treatment that targets different skin concerns. Often clear, gel-based, it can penetrate deeper hence delivering the active ingredients faster! There are so many types of serums like the following : ▪️anti-aging serums ▪️skin-brightening serums ▪️hydrating serums ▪️free-radical fighting serums ▪️acne-prone and sensitive skin serums ▪️reparative/texture improvement serums This can help us by choosing according to our skin goals or concerns. Some tips : ▪️ It can be used for both Am & Pm, it goes after our toner or essence & before moisturizer. ▪️ Sealing it off with a Cream to maximize the benefits is also important. ▪️ Don't forget to patch test when introducing a new one in your routine. ▪️ As they contain active ingredients, learn which one works better with other products (for example- Hyaluronic Acid serums work well with any other serums!) & avoid layering serums that can potentially cancel one another or can irritate the skin( Retinol & Exfoliating serums) ▪️Use from thinnest to thickest. ▪️Try to limit 2-3 serums per routine as it may cause pilling. I use 3 serums at a time depending on the texture of each one. Observe closely, and remember that skin should feel comfortable as you layers them.
