Thinking about adopting a guinea pig? If so, these cuddly small animals make great companions. They are sweet, social and get excited to see you like other pets! 🤗 ✔ They’re great with kids: Children should still be supervised when interacting with them, but they’re calm creatures, also playful and sometimes vocal too with their "wheeking" noise greeting. ✔ They’re relatively easy to care for: Fresh water, alfalfa and timothy hay, pellets and crunchy veggies are important for guinea pigs to thrive. Their only other requirement is that you change their bedding and clean their cage every three to four days. ✔ They’re clean: Guinea pigs frequently groom themselves and are generally tidy pets. As long as you regularly clean their cage, they won’t produce any foul smells. They can also be trained to use a litter box. ✔ They have a long lifespan for a small animal: A healthy guinea pig may live for five to seven years. If you’re thinking about bringing a guinea pig into your home, consider two. Guinea pigs are herd animals, social creatures that prefer to live with another of their kind. ❤ Meet six of our amazing guinea pigs: Billy (orange), Sam (black & brown), Brownie (brown), Cupcake (black & white), Crackle and Pop, all waiting for their forever homes. 🐾 Visit Women's Animal Center to meet our small pets.
