raise your hand if in the past, you have set crazy fitness goals and when you didn’t reach them, you ended up feeling bad about yourself? 🙋♀️🙋🙋♂️
I’ve been in the fitness industry for 10 years and every year, without fail, I see THE SAME THING... clients hit the ground running with unrealistic fitness goals in the new year, and by the time February rolls around, they are too burnt out/exhausted to go any further. So! Let’s avoid that and come back to these 3 things that will help re-shape your goals & create consistency within your routine...
• find the WHY behind your fitness goals. can you attach a feeling/emotion to your why? ask yourself “how do I want to FEEL?” and “how will these goals help me become a better version of myself?” Unlocking your intention will help create a supportive space for you to show up to the mat. your intentions help you find motivation to stay disciplined & creating longevity for your goals.
• finding a workout routine/instructor that you really jive with makes a HUGE difference. it’s so much more than just a workout; how does your instructor leave a mark off the mat that will keep you feeling inspired and cultivate more self-love?! (On that note- I’d be careful following in-feed workouts/reels. While it’s fun for inspo, I would really consider getting into some virtual classes/in-person classes; also helps with accountability. Be sure you are moving with someone who knows what they are doing and isn’t just a fitness influencer with zero training).
• lastly, pace yourself. the best version of you takes time and baby, we’ve got all the time in the world. to avoid burnout & exhaustion, be sure you are listening to your body. Remember: never doubt the power of a 25 minute workout, harder/intense doesn’t mean better, listen to your body when it needs rest, don’t be afraid to take out all the cardio & move slow or amp up weights to build strength
