“Breastmilk is such a magical substance, made up of carbohydrates, protein, vitamins, immunity factors plus so much more. Breastmilk actually changes throughout each feed to provide your baby with exactly what they need at each time.
But did you know that breastmilk that you catch in your Haakaa Ladybug can be used in baths to help your baby’s skin?
Baby Acne
Baby acne is usually hormonally driven, meaning that it will take time for baby’s skin to go back to normal. Using breastmilk on baby acne will help keep it moisturised without using products which may further irritate or dry the skin out. The antibacterial properties of breastmilk may also help to reduce the inflammation of baby acne.
Nappy Rash
Nappy rash is often caused by urine sitting on the skin and irritating it. Breastmilk baths, can help to reduce inflammation caused by nappy rash, reduce the risk of infection as well as healing any open areas.
Eczema
Breastmilk can help your baby or older child’s eczema, through the immunity factors, antibacterial factors, and several moisturising acids (ie. Leuric acid, palmitic acid, oleic acid and vaccenic acid).
Scratches, cuts or insect bites
The immunity and antibacterial factors of breastmilk mean that they help to heal small cuts, scratches and insect bites all whilst soothing them for your baby at the same time.
Magic, right!”
Have you ever given your baby a breast milk bath?
