Repost from @harpersbazaarus using repost_now_app - When Covid-19 upended life as we knew it last year, spouses #TracyLetts, the Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright and actor, and @CarrieCoon, the Emmy and Tony-nominated actress, found themselves disoriented from the theater community they both knew and loved so intimately. “We were both in what I would refer to as ‘performance rhythm,’” Carrie explains. “Your body gets into this really specific rhythm of work: I was getting up in the morning with [our son] Haskell and then going to the theater around 5 p.m. to take a nap and do this show. You’re doing that six days a week. And it just suddenly ended for both of us. ... It was a shock to our bodies.” Tracy adds of the unexpected loss, “The theater at its best does something that movies and TV and other forms of storytelling can’t do, which is to remind us of the flesh and blood, the humanity that’s in the room with you.” At the link in bio, the actor’s actor and the playwright’s playwright talk performing, marriage, and finding light after the stage went dark.
