In terms of my summer veggies and flower garden, this is where I'm at, construction zone and all.
I won't be able to plant anything in the ground this summer due to the backyard renovation but that didn't stop me from growing things in containers. I'm super happy to see an array of tomatoes that I planted (all from seed too!) and that I will be able to harvest them in the next few weeks!
I'm growing other things right now and alot of them are for fall harvesting since I had abit of a late start:
•Red and golden beets
•Carrots (one regular and one colorful variety)
•Zuccinis (1 green and 1 yellow variety)
•Dinosaur kale
•Buttercrunch lettuce
•Lettuce
•Chayotes
For flowers I've got a few Cafe au Lait Dahlias (and another variety I can't remember the name) that will be blooming in late August as well as some double flowered white Cosmos.
Even in the midst of construction, I was still able to grow raspberries, daffodils, tulips, GARLIC, anemones, snap peas, ranunculus, and poppies. Of course it takes a very patience landscaper @andy.gray.design to play tetris with all of my pots 🙄
Anyway, for anyone else like me who have to be abit creative with gardening space, container gardening is still very much doable. I am only into year 2 for outdoor gardening, so still a beginner, and I've learned so much already.
You can find lots of container gardening tips from @joegardener and @thefrenchiegardener.
