First @ptborowrestling match (that I was at) was a success. 50-20 Boro win over a tough Colts Neck team. It’s been a long time since Point Boro has had a losing record and the Panthers have jumped out to a 2-0 record early in the season to help ensure early on that they won’t have to worry about that this year, either. This team is pretty deep as I would say covering basketball. Many of these guys are getting their first licks of varsity action and even in some tough loses tonight - there were bright spots and team-wise the Panthers are tough as normal. Bout of the night goes to Garrett Weiland. After a tough injury ruined his junior season, Garrett earned a decision over a returning district finalist in exciting fashion. He used a takedown late in the 3rd period before riding out his opponent in the final seconds to secure the win. A lot of good bouts all around in a tough team win. Luke Renna had another nice win and I looking forward to seeing more of him this season in addition to Mike Deangelo now being healthy as well. Braden Clark was also impressive going up a weight. Finally got to see Jaxin Corino on the high school mat too. His future is bright but had a tall task tonight against a region champ. Nice to catch up with many of these guys tonight and look forward to the remainder of the season! We even got a Mikey and Jeff Jacobs second annual photo. Next up I will post my interview with the resurgent Frankie Burgio who’s on a mission right now. AND when it comes to Boro wrestling there is no acceptable song to add here other than crazy train every time!
