This week has been challenging. I spent the last two days advocating for my actual neighbors who on my street alone consist of three widows, single moms, elderly couples with serious heath conditions, parents caring for their adult disabled children, parents caring for children actively being treated in the hospital now, parents of young children and many people that work multiple jobs to provide for their families. In asking for help people were dishonest with me and gave me the run around. I had to resort to using a connection which I hated doing and still feel terrible because I’m ridiculously sensitive and relationships mean more to me than they should. Things are better but not awesome. Then today, God reminded me that God sees me and is always honest with me. God cares for me and my neighbors. Even in Leviticus (19:18) God commands us to love our neighbor as ourselves and then repeats this command through scripture. Oswald Chambers could not have known when he wrote My Utmost for His Highest in the early 1900s what my February 24th what hold or how frazzled I would be but God knew exactly what I would read on the morning of February 25th. I am grateful to be seen, known, loved, and advocated.
