The first 5 minutes of this film is all you need to watch to know Ahmir @questlove Thompson must be at the helm. The use of the Philly word “Jawn” is only a part of it. He’s Philly without a doubt. But anyone who’s had a real conversation with him also recognized his brand of convo/storytelling. This felt Like Ahmir revealing more of his Bruce Wayne side to a world mostly familiar with his alter ego. The opening scene goes from music, to stories behind the music/venue, to the socioeconomic setting, to politics, and back to music in a flash. THAT’s Ahmir Thompson. A walking DJ set of information lol. It’s no surprise that a film with such a personal touch gets this well received. In a time when So many of us are begging for authenticity, it’s really dope to see you providing that to the world in only the way you know how. Now hurry up and get to 30Rock so we can all have a Three 6 Mafia moment with that statue. Congratulations Brotha ?uestion. P.S. Congrats as well to so many other people involved with this project.
