Inspired by my clients currently on their second @virginvoyages (#Caribbean & now the Med, with Greece booked for next summer) for this long-overdue post of my May #sailing 🛳: 5 nights round-trip Miami, 2 port days where I went canyoning in #PuertoPlata (Dominican Republic) and wreck/shark diving in #Bimini, followed by fun at #VirginVoyages #beachclub 🥳 There’s a misconception of Virgin being a wild young party. Sure, people are there to #vacation and let loose, and the vibrant crew do a great job to hype it up. But it can also be chill, too - spa, gym, nice dinners, live music, edgy productions 💃🏻 #VirginCruises is adults-only 18+ but the demographic ranges, primarily mid-20s-50s: couples, friend groups. This cute elderly couple in their 70s outpartied me one night, still at the club when I left at 11:30 👵🏼 Both #scarletlady and #valiantlady ships are identical and brand new. My stateroom shown is a #seaterrace. I’m always saying I don’t understand hammocks but this one was so comfy and I didn’t awkwardly plop out of it. The bathroom is a bit small so I suggest the nominal upgrade to the “XL” for a larger shower and more counter space. Rock Star suites are a bit more of a splurge but come with exclusive access to lounges, daily champagne hour, hosted mini-bar, and a black bracelet (key/charge) instead of the red ones us peasants wear 👧🏻 Food: good value for the cost. I can’t say the food was phenomenal but considering that the #cruise pricing works out to $400-$600 per night for 2 people in a Sea Terrace, it’s better than expected. Alcohol is not included but prices are reasonable and there are drink packages/shipboard credits (extra when booking with me 🤓) Tips: The best thing I ate was the made-to-order truffle pizza at the pizza place. It’s open late and gets busy 😋 Do the Korean bbq place after you’ve made friends. Sits 6 to a table and you’re paired up playing drinking games, a good time with a fun table 🍶 Pack red for #ScarletNight. Can be casual or dressy but cocktail attire is appropriate.
