We are back at the official NYFW The Shows. With almost a decade showing of in NY we have lots of surprises this season. To kick off this season, we released our Fashion Film Series of Spring 2023 Preview: Foundation, Progression, and Evolution . We added a hint of Afro Surrealism. Afro-surrealism is a revolutionary battle cry to embrace this madness through aesthetics of fantasy, absurdity and past-present-future Afro-timelines. All these challenges to the dominant norm are geared towards a unity of reality and our wildest dreams, a gap that has been widened by global systemic oppressions. For contemporary Afro-surrealists, there is an additional opposition that the movement seeks to treat: the future-past – a point in time suspended precariously between what has been and what will be. According to D. Scot Miller, author of the manifesto for the contemporary afro-surrealist movement, the future-past is “RIGHT NOW.” This artistic expression was led by Black female practitioners and theorists such as Suzanne Césaire and Jenn Nkiru. The color is mint. In ancient Egyptian culture, the color mint green represented resurrection, health, and restoration. Mint green is a vibrant shade of green that is also clean, crisp, and cool-toned. It inspires creativity and provides a sense of freshness and lightness Thank you to everyone for involved in Videographer @redkameraphotography Models: @seecoyyah @pleighboi._ @daniellecarrozza and introducing @missaziza_love Get ready 💚💚
