“Heartaches,” by Al Hoffman and John Klenner, iconically performed by Patsy Cline. Processing the loss of the second half of this tour in one of the most effective ways I know: songs of Patsy Cline. I feel the relationship between myself and our fans is real. It is not Love like Love-Love is Love, but it is a kind of love. To have it snatched away by Covid is a real heartbreaker for me. It’s like a break-up that you know is not right. We ought to be together. The shows we did play meant so much to me. Thank you all for supporting our music and the completely wonderful @artmooreglobal (go get their record right now). This whole enterprise of being a musician fees so unstable right now, and I am questioning everything. But that relationship with you who love this music is the ground beneath my feet here. When I can move forward again with this work, it will be, as always, only because of your support. We will make up the shows in Philadelphia, Providence, Boston and New York. I don’t know when but if you stay in touch I’ll tell you. Maybe we can also find a way to make up for the canceled festival in Delaware by playing around there too. (RIP to the absolute shit I was gonna talk onstage about AEG.) I believe in this music project and I thank you for believing in it too. Until we meet again, we have plenty of songs of heartache to lean on. -Ezra
