The @Ahluwalia Special for @LuncheonMagazine’s 13th Issue Priya Ahluwalia founded her brand Ahluwalia in 2018. She has worked with stylist Nell Kalonji for the last two years and they come together for Luncheon to discuss the shoot by Nadine Ijewere featured on these pages, the community behind Ahluwalia and its future, and the Autumn/Winter 2022 collection, which takes its inspirations from Nollywood and Bollywood. “So, Nell, we started working together maybe two years ago now. My brand Ahluwalia was very young still, nearly two years old. I was a big fan of Nell’s work and I was looking for anew stylist. And basically, I just reached out. And it was quite funny, because Nell came to my studio to meet me and look at my work and I thought it was so cool. And she started talking about next steps. And Iwas like, ‘Oh, so you actually do want to work withme?’ And she said, ‘Yes, that’s why I’m here.” - @Priya.Ahluwalia1 “I knew about Priya’s work, although I think she’d only done three presentations. So last season was actually her first ever runway show. The brand is four years old now. She’s so far advanced in her stockists and how the business is built. You don’t often see this in young designers, that they have this sense of being a business woman as well as being acreative, a brand. So there’s a real structure. And then when it came to last season, and we did the Autumn/Winter 2022 show, it felt so strange to think that that was her first season because she’s already done I don’t know how many films. I think that a couple of young designers have done this during the pandemic, but I think Priya is a prime example.” - @NellKalonji Photographer: @nadineijewere Stylist: @nellkalonji Hair: @hikageyumiko Makeup: @auroregibrien Models: @ashleyradjarame | @adsaaraan.p | @_lyndiaye With special thanks to Frances von Hofmannsthal #AgencyEleven #Ahluwalia #Luncheon
