The rituals of braising, filling, rolling and steaming tamales is a Christmas tradition for many families. Born in Mexico to an American mother and Mexican father, Jorge Guzmán (@jorgeguzman1), a James Beard Award finalist chef who helms the Minneapolis restaurant Petite León, is getting back to this tradition with the help of his wife and son, Everett. "The older I've gotten, the more my heart and my identity reside in Mexico," Guzmán says. "I cook this food to viscerally remember and feel like I'm there—the smells and the tastes.
