At first glance, he might look brawny and intimidating. But big, sweet Felix is more teddy bear than polar bear! 🐻‍❄️ His person had tragically passed away, so when the gentle senior arrived at the Sanctuary in August, it was with a bit of a broken heart. Fortunately, Felix had known a life of love — and he began sharing that warmth and affection with every face he met. ❤️‍🩹 Making friends with his canine neighbors came naturally to Felix, and he soon found himself with a flock of fans, including fellow canines, charmed humans and even enchanted kittens. The canyon seemed to work its magic helping Felix’s heart heal. Or maybe Felix worked his own special magic because in late October, he was officially adopted! It turned out dog lovers Lisa and Pat had been tending to broken hearts of their own. The couple had lost their own much-loved pup the past summer. When they heard about Felix and learned his story, they knew they wanted to give this big boy a chance. The supersized dog with the enormous heart now sleeps on his own twin-sized bed in Pat and Lisa’s bedroom. They agree that making Felix part of their family has been a mutually uplifting and love-filled experience.
